Sometimes a shoot just screams Black and White {Spokane Baby Photographer}

I always edit my shoots into color and b/w. I love both for different reasons, but my roots are black and white film and I just adore it.

Every now and then I'll be editing a shoot and every single picture just feels better in black and white. I don't really know why. But this was one of those times.

Meet Benson.

I love how tiny he looks with his dad.

Baby Time again! {Spokane Baby Photographer}

I had 3 babies come over last week and another yesterday. It's been so fun snuggling all these cute little guys (and girls!)

First up, sweet little Brynn. Youngest of 3 girls at her house. Wanna see?

More baby love! {Spokane Baby Photographer}

This little guy is the son of a graduating law student. He was born on Monday, we did pictures on Friday, his dad graduated on Saturday and they got in the truck and started driving right after graduation!

Busy first week of life, for sure! (as a side note...this clock was knocked off the wall and broken by my kids right after the shoot. Guess I won't be doing this pose again any time soon)

He needed a little down time. Not that baby pictures can really be considered down time...but he was a trooper.

I know his family from church so I was really excited to get to meet him before they moved! I was also excited that he was the first baby I've gotten to tolerate the hanging pouch thingy. (courtesy of the talented Tricity Hokes Creations!) Thanks to his Auntie for helping to hold him up.

Welcome to the world, little man!

Blessing Day {Spokane Baby Photographer}

Speaking of Ja'Nette's baby. Isn't she darling? I could just sit and stare at her all day.

Born to be best friends

I had a unique experience a couple weeks ago. My sister invited me to be at the birth of her second child and I was really looking forward to it. I acted as a doula during her labor and I was given strict instructions to not take any pictures until the baby was born but then I could go crazy.

There was a fun little twist to the birth, though. My sister's best friend since childhood happened to go into labor the same night as my sister. They had the same doctor and were just one room apart from each other in the hospital.

The doc was going back and forth and they ended up having their boys about 13 minutes apart.

The best part was I got to take pictures of both of them right after they came into the world. It was so much fun! There's nothing quite so amazing as capturing the very first moments of someone's life on camera!

My nephew.

And his buddy.

The backlighting...

and that rare baby eye contact...
